Manchester City star Carlos Tevez will be the best paid Premier League star taking to the field at the World Cup, it has emerged.
Football website goal.com has compiled details of the amount of money various stars will be taking in and the Argentine came in fifth with £13.8m.
Lionell Messi will be the best paid footballer lining out in South Africa this summer, according to the list of high earners. The Argentina and Barcelona player came out top with £29.6m per annum.
He beat Real Madrid and Portugal player Cristiano Ronaldo, who takes in £27m a year, into second place.
The duo are a long way ahead of the rest of the pack, with Brazil and Real Madrid star Kaka coming in third on £16.9m.
Proving that cheaters frequently win is Thierry Henry in fourth place who earns £16.1m per annum.
Tevez came in fifth, one place ahead of Frank Lampard on £12.8m. Seventh place went to Samuel Eto’o who earns £12.4m while John Terry makes a cool £10m.
Stephen Gerrard wasn’t far behind on £9m while Xavi rounded off the top 10 with £8.5m.
