The Aidan O’Brien trained Fame and Glory has won the Investec Coronation Cup at Epsom this afternoon.
Johnny Murtagh prominently rode the 5/6 favourite from a long way out and pushed the button past front-runner Dixie Music before the home turn.
O’Brien’s four-year-old, the runner-up in the Epsom derby to Sea the Stars last year, held off a challenge from Jamie Spencer’s mount Sariska to take the mile-and-a-half Group 1 race. John Gosden’s 25/1 outsider High Heeled ran on into third.
Fame and Glory has now been installed as the 6/1 favourite with Ladbrokes for the Prix de l’Arc de Triompe.
