Inter have confirmed the arrival of former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez as the club’s new manager.
Benitez joins the Champions League winners, where he faces the arduous task of replacing Jose Mourinho, less than a week after his departure from Anfield.
He spent six years in charge of the Reds, steering the club to the Champions League crown in 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006 but has failed to win a single trophy over the past four seasons.
Benitez came close to spearheading Liverpool’s first domestic title in 19 years a year ago but they fell just short of old foes Manchester United.
Confirming the appointment of the Spaniard, Inter president Massimo Moratti said, “We have agreed the final details which were not important things. Tomorrow we shall present Rafa Benitez.”
