News that Neil Lennon is set to be unveiled as the new Celtic boss after a 76-day wait has emerged as the main story on the back pages this morning.

Here are some of the headlines:

‘It’s all yours Lenny’ – The Irish Sun

‘Lenny in the hot seat ’ – The Irish News

However, it’s far from the only decent story on the back pages. Here are some of the other eye-catching headlines.

‘Liverpool move for Hodgson’– Daily Mirror

‘Munster blast Deise over role in final venue row’ – Irish Independent

‘Joe Cole and Michael Ballack walk’ – The Independent (London)

‘When I saw car crash victim I knew missing the World Cup was not a tragedy’ – Daily Star

The Daily Mail meanwhile reports that 25 years after first taking the Liverpool job, Kenny Dalglish wants it back.

The paper leads however, with the story of how Jose Mourinho has scrapped plans by Real Madrid to hold a pre-season training camp in Ireland. ‘No Way, Jose!’ is the not funny, not clever headline.

The Mail has decided to relegate what by rights should be Ireland’s biggest news story of the last 24-hours to page 47. Ireland is guaranteed three medals at the European Amateur Boxing Championships after Kenny Egan, Tyrone McCullagh and Darren O’Neill won their fights last night. Our boxers never seem to let us down.

The Sun meanwhile highlights the story of how Portugal and Manchester United player Nani is out of the World Cup with a shoulder injury. A replacement is being called in so there is no going back for the young Michael Jackson look-a-like.

The Sun has also reserved some column inches for a rather insightful GAA story. ‘Tactics are killing our game…’ is the headline. The story goes that Benny Coulter has warned the GAA that more skilful players will quit football if the current malaise of negative tactics continues. It comes on the back of news that Derry’s Paddy Bradley intends to quit at the end of the year, saying football has become too negative.

The Irish News is running another boxing story, this time from the pro circuit. ‘Peter puts faith in Paul’ reads the headline. JOE.ie’s own Brian Peters has backed Paul McCloskey to deliver the goods in his upcoming fight with Giuseppe Lauri on 11 June in the King’s Hall in Belfast. Don’t blame him. Paul is lethal!
