Services have now resumed with knock-on delays.
Commuters experienced massive delays around Dublin this morning as DART services were suspended due to a ‘tragic incident’.
At around 7.45am, Irish Rail notified passengers of the delays, saying: “Due to a tragic incident on the line, all DART and Commuter services between Raheny and Dublin Connolly are suspended.
At just after 8.30am, DART services were cleared to resume, with one Belfast to Connolly train delayed by over an hour.

Dublin Bus accepting rail tickets, disruption expected to continue throughout morning peak.
DART services suspended due to ‘tragic incident’
It is believed that the incident occurred at Killester station, as emergency services attended the scene.
In a statement, Iarnród Éireann said that bus transfers are in place for Belfast services from Drogheda.
Dublin Bus is accepting valid rail tickets in the capital and a shuttle service is in operation from Howth and Howth Junction.
In a statement to JOE this morning, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an incident at Killester railway station, County Dublin, this morning Wednesday, 19th June 2024.
“Train services are disrupted in the area; further details can be sought from Iarnród Éireann.”
