It’s going to be an unsettled week ahead.
Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow rain warning for three counties this Saturday, October 5.
The warning for counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford will be in place for the entirety of Saturday and warns of heavy and persistent rain.
Some of the possible impacts of the warning include difficult travelling conditions and localised flooding.
The national outlook for the week ahead generally mild and unsettled with rain and showers and the indications are that unsettled conditions will persist.

Met Éireann’s national outlook for the week ahead includes plenty of rain
Friday, October 4
Mostly cloudy and damp tomorrow with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. The best chance for any sunny spells will be in the southwest and west in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees in moderate to fresh south or southeast winds.
Friday night: Mild and wet overnight with widespread rain, turning heavy in places with possible localised flooding. Temperatures won’t fall below 11 to 15 degrees in moderate, occasionally fresh, south or southeast winds.
Saturday, October 5
Wet and breezy with showery outbreaks of rain, heavy at times with some localised flooding likely, especially for southern counties. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in fresh south or southeast winds.
Saturday night: Wet at first with widespread outbreaks of showery rain, gradually becoming confined to the north and east by morning as drier and clearer conditions move in from the southwest. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with southerly winds falling light.
Sunday, October 6
The last of the overnight cloud and rain will clear the north and east in the morning to leave a day of sunny spells and scattered showers, heaviest and most persistent in the south and west. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in moderate southerly winds, fresher for the west and southwest.
Monday, October 7
Sunny spells and scattered showers expected, some heavy and prolonged with the chance of thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in moderate southeasterly winds, fresher near coasts.
