India’s monsoon, the annual downpour crucial to farmers and national economic growth, hit the western Indian city of Mumbai this week. The Indian government is hoping for a good monsoon to tame soaring food prices after last year’s drought, the worst in 37 years, brought poor harvests and despair to farmers.

South Africa v Uruguay begin the second round of group matches and we should get some more open football in this one with both nations on one point after drawing their opening games. Kick-off is 7.30pm.
