Diego Forlan has been the driving force behind Uruguay’s fruitful World Cup campaign to date after he scored a brace in last night’s 3-0 victory over host nation South Africa.
A screamer from outside the box and a second half penalty has deemed the former Manchester United striker one of the most dangerous players in the tournament. His goals have put the South Americans in pole position to advance to the last 16 ahead of their third game with Mexico next Tuesday.
The Daily Star says that Forlan has come back to “haunt†South Africa coach Carlos Alberto Parreira after he was previously “stung†by the Uruguayan when in charge of Brazil.
