The Armagh County Board has launched an investigation into an attack on one of the county’s All-Ireland minor-winning heroes during a club match last weekend.

Kevin Nugent, 19, was part of the Orchard County side which lifted the All-Ireland minor title with victory over Mayo last September.

He was knocked to the ground towards the end of the game between his club, Maghery, and Cullaville last weekend.

Nugent sustained severe facial injuries during the incident, including a broken chin, a broken jaw, a dislodged lower jaw and displaced lower teeth.
