Machester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will have a wry smile on his face today after new signing Javier Hernandez scored the opening goal for Mexico in their 2-0 shock win France in Group A last night.
The Sun prints 22-year-old’s after-match comments, “I am very happy to be joining Manchester United and am looking forward to moving there soon.
“But right now I am thinking 100 per cent about Mexico and the World Cup, of beating Uruguay in our next game and going as far as we can in this competition.”
France’s qualification hopes now rest in the hands of Mexico and Uruguay. If they play out a draw it will grant automatic qualification into the last 16. Let’s hope they do just that.
