The Front Pages
It was a weekend of tragedies in differing circumstances for three young Irish men who lost their lives in unrelated incidents.
The Irish Independent runs the stories side-by-side on the front page:

Charlene remained on the shore while her boyfriend continued to swim but when she lost sight of him it was then that she raised the alarm. The Shannon-based Coastguard helicopter, the Ballyglass lifeboat team and local gardai all rushed to the scene around 20km south-east of Belmullet.
‘Tributes paid to rally star’

The driver of the car, Shane Buckley (25), from Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo, is in a stable condition in Letterkenny General Hospital.
‘Killing suspect on temporary release’
A man being questioned by gardai in connection with the fatal stabbing of a young father was on temporary release from prison when the attack took place, according to the Indo.

Meanwhile, on the political front, the Irish Times reports that Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny wants to reinstate Richard Bruton to the front bench.
Mr Kenny was interviewed over the weekend by RTE’s The Week in Politics and when questioned on the matter he replied: “Yesâ€. However, Mr Kenny would not make it clear as to what position Mr Bruton would take up.
Tales from the Tabs
The England football fan that got inside the national team’s dressing room to give the players an earful is facing up to one year in prison, according to the Daily Star.
Pavlos Joseph (32) was arrested and detained in a cell in Cape Town yesterday after he bosted to a newspaper about his speech to the England players after their below-par performance in a 0-0 draw with minnows Algeria on Friday.
The Londoner claims he confronted David Beckham, 35, and said: “That was woeful and not good enough. What are you going to do about it?â€
The Sports Pages
Brazil head coach Dunga has lambasted French referee Stephane Lannoy over Kaka’s red card in their 3-1 win over Ivory Coast.
Brazil’s star player received a second yellow card late in the game after Keita performed a “shameful piece of actingâ€, as described in the report in The Sun.
Dunga fumed: “It was a totally unjustified sending-off. Kaka was fouled and he was the one punished and given a yellow card.
“It seems a player who commits the foul is not given anything but the player fouled is sent off. I must congratulate Keita for that.”
A spokesman for the Brazil team said: “We will think about talking to FIFA. There are hundreds of TV cameras and everyone saw what happened.â€
