For Monday’s bet, we’re going for two favourites to assert their supremacy in style.
The World Cup continues with the last of the second series of matches today, when all eyes will be on European champions Spain as they attempt to bounce back into contention against Group H minnows Honduras.
The Spaniards owned the ball but failed to find the net against Switzerland last week so nothing less than a victory will suffice against the central Americans.
Honduras were on the wrong end of the most one-sided 1-0 of the tournament when they played Chile. Spain are even better than Chile at keeping the ball and with one or both of David Villa and Fernando Torres in attack, they can be expected to rack up a few goals.
We like the sound of a 4-0 WIN, and that’s 15/2 with Paddy Power.
In racing we’re going for GENTLE NOEL in the first on the card at Kilbeggan, a maiden hurdle over two miles.
Dessie Hughes’s oddly-named mare produced a fine performance in a well-contested maiden hurdle at Listowel last time. On her first start in a few months, she moved smoothly into contention before tiring late on against Lend A Hand Son, and she should be hard to beat this evening.
JOE’s Daily Double: Spain to beat Honduras 4-0 (15/2) & Gentle Noel (Kilbeggan, 6.00 @ 7/4)
