Muddy men
Catholic devotees listen to mass while covered in mud and leaves during the Taong Putik Festival or ‘Mud People Festival’, the Feast of Saint John the Baptist on June 24, 2010 in the town of Aliaga, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. During the feast, members of the Catholic community cover themselves in mud and stick banana leaves, twigs and vines onto themselves emulating John the Baptist’s disguised appearance when he baptised Christ.
