We’re leaving it late for Tuesday’s double with picks from the evening game at the World Cup and the second last race on the evening card at Sligo.

Spain meet Portugal in the last 16 of the World Cup and we reckon SPAIN are a mighty bet at Evens with Paddy Power.

The European champions haven’t scaled the heights of two years ago at this World Cup and there are doubts about them as genuine contenders for the trophy.

However, with Fernando Torres looking a bit more like his true self against Chile and David Villa and Andres Iniesta (pictured) taking their goals brilliantly, they’re still the best team in Europe for our money and a double-your-dollar price against a Portugal side which, Mr Sulky apart, is short on real quality just has to be snapped up.

The second-last at Sligo is a low-grade handicap over a mile and a quarter, and we like the look of IMPRUDENT MISS at a tasty price.

The four-year-old filly has produced two fair efforts from the front this season at Navan and Fairyhouse, on both occasions against stronger opposition than she meets tonight.

She subsequently disappointed at Leopardstown but was held up that day and never got into the race. Drawn in stall 15 I expect Chris Hayes to bounce her out and make a bold bid from the front. Around the sharp circuit at Sligo she could well last home.
