Murray through to Wimbledon Semis

Fourth seed Scot Andy Murray progressed to the semi finals of Wimbledon after defeating tenth seed Frenchman Joe Wilfried Tsonga.

Fourth seed Scot Andy Murray progressed to the semi finals of Wimbledon after defeating Joe Wilfried Tsonga.

Murray dropped the first set to Tsonga on a tie-break, and was 5-4 down in the second but recovered to win 6-7 7-6 6-2 6-2.

Andy Murray’s prize for defeating the French tenth seed is a semi-final tie against World Number One Rafa Nadal on Friday, after the Spaniard overcame Robin Soderling.

It is 74 years since Fred Perry defeated Gottfried von Kramm, the last Briton to win a Men’s Singles Wimbledon Championships.
