01/07 The End of the Day

Home time. Time to have some Pu-erh tea and plan your weekend around a sober music festival, perhaps.

Mood Swingometer

Today JOE has been feeling…sober.

We’re steamrolling towards the weekend and there’s so much happening it hasn’t been easy for JOE to decide where the best buzz will be.

If it’s a sober buzz you’re looking for, there’s only one place. The Lovin’ Life Festival gets underway tonight in Sligo and carries on right through the weekend. The non-alcohol and drug-free music festival is the first of its kind in Ireland.

Tonight’s Telly

Pick of the night: Spartacus – Blood and Sand, TV3, 10.00pm.

Not for the faint of heart, expect rivers of blood, shattering bones, impromptu bellows of laughter, every form of fornication imaginable, and exceedingly hammy acting. Spartacus, which stars Four Weddings and a Funeral actor John Hannah and former Xena: Warrior Princess star Lucy Lawless, has been compared to “a combination of films 300 and Sin City.” It’s all sex and gore so basically, it’s you’re ultimate man stuff programme.

More TV: Hector San UK, TG4, 9.30pm.

Travel presenter Hector O hEochagain meets Michael Eavis, who farms the fields where the Glastonbury Festival is held, before meeting Mick Jagger’s brother Chris. The reporter also witnesses crop circles in Avesbury and chats to former footballer and Grandstand presenter David Icke on the Isle of Wight.

Live Like JOE

Have a cup of Pu-erh Tea.

Get with the times man. Pu-erh tea is special stuff. So much so, that it’s grown at an elevation of around 2,000 metres in Yunan and can cure a hangover.
