OK, this one has been out a couple of months but for some unknown reason there are still people out there who haven’t heard it. It’s a corker of a song from a group of musicians from County Kildare so we’ve decided to do our bit to help bring it to the masses.
Comets isn’t quite the normal Super Extra Bonus Party fare – Heathers’ understated vocal really brings something to the table in this upbeat, ultra-catchy little number. Super Extra Bonus Party’s oh-so-in-right-now retro synthish electronica sound, which you sort of have to be in the mood for, is stripped away – and we’re left with a gimmick-free, modern indie stunner.

The three elements that have went into making this track – Lil Wayne, Eminem and a sample of Haddaway’s 1993 hit What Is Love? should rightly have us all reaching for the sick bag. However, this one is a stone wall cracker. We’re not sure what Eminem was doing in rehab but he’s come out sounding furious, sharp, serious and spitting at 200mph. “Get these wack c**ksuckers off stage!â€

Oxford five-piece Foals have just released the second single from their second album Total Life Forever – and it could well be their best yet. It’s certainly proving one of the band’s most popular tracks, securing airplay all over the shop. The band have described the sound of their album as “tropical prog†and “like the dream of an eagle dyingâ€. Which is worse than no information. It’s a case of suck it and see.
They have strapped it onto a particularly strange, but oddly entertaining video which you can check out below.
