Today JOE has been feeling…controversial.

Over the coming weeks JOE will be compiling a list of legendary Irishmen, both dead and alive. This week’s JOE Legend is none other than the controversial Charles J Haughey.

Tonight’s Telly

Pick of the night: The Tudors, TV3, 10.00pm.

The conclusion of the siege of Boulogne fills Henry with pride, but upon his return to England he is faced with the collapse of his treaty with the Emperor. Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers has the lead in this as you probably already know.

More TV: Shameless, E4, 11.00pm.

Frank falls victim to identity fraud and is horrified to discover his criminal record has been deleted, making him eligible for jury service. Once in court, however, he and a like-minded juror conspire to prolong the case as much as possible so they can continue to claim expenses. Meanwhile, Micky and Shane start a tour company to defraud unsuspecting customers. David Threlfall and Ciaran Griffiths star, with a guest appearance by Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder.
