The Front Pages

This morning’s front pages cover a broad spectrum of stories including a splattering of male interest issues.

The Irish Examiner reveals Hunky Dorys has been banned from using the controversial posters of scantily clad models in rugby gear. The crisp producers have been accused of using sexist ads to promote their products.

An Irish Independent headline reads, “Boxer’s body to be exhumed.”

The family of Olympic boxer Darren Sutherland has been granted a licence to have his body exhumed.

The 27-year-old boxer was found dead last September at his flat in Bromley, south London, by his manager Frank Maloney. An inquest in Croyden was opened and adjourned last September.

And in political fair, Taoiseach Brian Cowen gave a “rousing” speech to his parliamentary party.

The Irish Times has published the main details of what went on amongst the Fianna Fail TDs last night.

There were speeches galore from the likes of Kilkenny TD Bobby Aylward, Mayo’s Beverly Flynn and Thomas Byrne of Meath East.

Mr Cowen said his leadership was not “probationary” and also sent a warning message to dissident TDs.
