Louth midfielder Paddy Keenan and Offaly forward Shane Dooley have been awarded the Vodafone GAA player of the month awards for June.

Keenan was instrumental at midfield for a Louth side that advanced to their first Leinster Final for 50 years. The captain was hugely influential in the Wee County’s impressive defeat of Kildare on the first weekend in June, while he kicked 0-3 from play against Westmeath in the Leinster semi-final in a man of the match performance.

Dooley was magnificent against Galway in Offaly’s two clashes with the Tribesmen in the Leinster hurling semi-final last month. The corner forward scored 1-17 over the two games, including the 73rd minute point in the drawn game that forced a replay in which John McIntyre’s side emerged victorious by two points.
