The shortlist for the Hyundai Best Young Player trophy has been announced by FIFA.
The three nominees are Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich and Germany, Giovani dos Santos of Mexico and Tottenham Hotspur and Andre Ayew of Ghana and Marseille.
The award is open to all participating players born on or after 1 January 1989 and the winner will receive the coveted Hyundai Best Young Player Award trophy and a new Hyundai Tucson ix 35.
The eventual winner will be announced after the World Cup final.
Previous winners of the award include Franz Beckenbauer, Pele, and Enzo Scifo. In 2006, it was awarded to Lukas Podolski.
