Sheffield Wednesday have offered a contract to former Republic of Ireland international Clinton Morrison according to reports from BBC Radio Sheffield.
The 31-year-old is without a club after being released by Coventry City at the end of last season.
Morrison and Wednesday are said to be in advanced talks, and an agreement between the two parties is believed to be imminent.
He will become Alan Irvine’s eighth signing of the summer, as the Owls manager prepares for life in League One.
Morrison previously played for Crystal Palace and Birmingham, and has 36 caps for the Republic of Ireland, his last cap coming in 2006.
