Irish cyclist Nicolas Roche has moved into thirteenth position overall in the Tour de France after a seventh place finish in the final stage of the Alps.

Roche was 17th before today’s stage, but his strong finish has moved him up four places.

Radioshack rider Sergio Paulinho took the tenth stage of the Tour de France in a nail biting photo finish in Gap.

Paulinho defeated Belarussian rider Vasil Kiryienka by a mere ten centimetres after a sprint finish over the last 400m of the last stage of the Alps.

No major contenders for the yellow jersey were involved in the breakaway, and most were content to sit back among the pack.

Andy Schleck remains in the lead in the overall standings with a lead of 41 seconds over Alberto Contador.

Mark Cavendish finished ninth, just ahead of Green jersey rival Thor Hushovd, after a sprint finish.
