The Cavan County Board have announced the resignation of Tommy Carr as manager of the senior football team.
Cavan had been heavily defeated by Cork in the qualifiers, and lost to Fermanagh in the Ulster championships.
The board said in a statement; “’Following Cavan’s exit from the All-Ireland football Championship series, that coincided with the end of two years as manager of the Cavan senior team, Cavan County Board afforded Tom Carr the time to reflect on his involvement with the County panel.
‘After some considerable thought, Tom now believes that it would be to the benefit of all involved for him to step aside as manager of the Cavan Senior team, and in doing so he wishes the best for Cavan football.’
