We all knew that the iPad was on its way to our shores soon enough but a press release from Apple has confirmed that the coveted tablet will go in sale in Ireland on July 23. Yes, that’s this Friday folks.

Demand for the device has be huge, with Apple recording over three million sales since it first went on sale in March. This has lead to speculation that demand would push the Irish launch back to the end of August… until now.

So far only the mobile network 3 has announced its intentions to sell the iPad along with a mobile broadband package for the 3G-enabled models. However, the latest information from 3 indicates that they will be launching these packages in early August.

Premium Apple retail partner Compu-B has confirmed to us that all models will be available in their stores from this Friday.

For those of you who just can’t wait and want to pre-order the iPad, you should head on over to Apple’s Irish Website here, where a list of re-sellers in your area can be found.

The iPad retails for €499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and for more memory and the addition of 3G, you can expect to pay around €799 for the 64GB Wi-Fi+3G model.
