Martin Jol is set to snub Fulham, and stay in Amsterdam with Ajax provided the club give him certain financial assurances.
“Fulham were interested but in principle I will stay at Ajax,” Jol told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
Jol had been informed by the Ajax board that he would not be able to sign any players until Luis Suarez and Gregory van der Wiel were sold.
The board have apparently relented, however, and he has decided to stay.
Fulham are set to turn their attention to the other names on their shortlist, which is said to include Mark Hughes and Sven-Goran Eriksson.
