Cee-Lo Green, No One’s Gonna Love You (Paul Epworth Remix). Download here.

This cover of a Band of Horses track has caught everyone by surprise. Nobody who heard the original could have imagined it being re-worked into this emotionally charged, blissed out Balearic monster of a track. Except of course for Cee-Lo Green – one half of Gnarls Barkley and former member of the Goodie Mob. And track producer Paul Epworth.

The video has a couple of moments which push the boundaries of work safety, but it’s on YouTube so isn’t all that bad. The bad news on this one is that you’ll have to wait until 9 August before this one is released. It’s getting airplay and is available on YouTube so we suggest that a copy could be downloaded through, erm, alternative means.

Arcade Fire, We Used To Wait. Download here.

With the likes of Metric and fan favourate Arcade Fire to their credit, Canadian music in bizarrely good shape. This is the third single from their latest Album The Suburbs and we really can’t have any complaints – it’s classic Arcade Fire.

Villagers, Becoming a Jackal. Download here.

The nominees for the oft-maligned Mercury Music Prize have just been announced across the water, and Irish act Villagers has secured a spot among the dirty dozen.

With dark, rumbling lyrics and a somewhat folky, stripped down sound Villagers won’t be for everyone. In honour of their nomination however, we’ve decided to stick them in here.

The title track from their debut album Becoming a Jackal immediately invokes Simon and Garfunkel. If you like them, you’ll like Villagers’ album. If you don’t, you probably won’t.
