Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk have completed the signing of Croatian striker Eduardo from Arsenal for a reported fee of £7.5 million.
The 27-year-old Brazilian born striker has signed a four-year-contract with Shakhtar said to be worth £50,000 a week.
A statement on Shakhtar’s website read, “Today on 21 July, FC Shakhtar have signed Brazilian-born Croatian forward Eduardo Da Silva from Arsenal on a four-year contract which has been anticipated by all the international media.
“All the details were agreed tonight at Donbas Arena in Donetsk.
“Within the nearest time the newcomer will be introduced to Ukrainian media representatives as well as to the Pitmen fans.”
Aston Villa, Lyon and Valencia were also said to be interested.
