Puerto Rican actor Benicio Del Toro is pictured here at this year’s 63rd Cannes Film Festival.
I am sure there is a lot of pressure at festivals such as these to appear effortlessly cool and stylish, but here Del Toro manages to look uncomfortable and out of place. A simple nicely-tailored suit and crisp white t-shirt would have been an easy solution to this wardrobe conundrum.
There’s no denying that he’s an exceptionally cool character, it would seem, however, that the pressure got to him, as he fails to pull off this dodgy suit and t-shirt combo.
Where to start… not only is his striped black shiny suit inappropriate for the scorching weather conditions of Cannes in summer, but it’s also highly unflattering and ages the ruggedly handsome actor.
The suit is bad enough, but then he makes things worse by treating his ugly print black t-shirt like a shirt, tucking it in to his ill-fitting trousers which are held up with a questionable choice of belt.
Of all the t-shirts in the world… why? It resembles what one would begrudgingly find at the bottom of a laundry basket . Then adding insult to utter confusion he wears a pair of formal dress shoes…there are just no words!
