Ferrari have been landed with a $100,000 fine, after their use of banned team orders in the German Grand Prix in Hockenheim.
Ferrari, who are being investigated by the FIA’s World Motorsport Council who could impose further punishments, have decided not to appeal the fine.
Felipe Massa allowed Fernando Alonso to pass him after race engineer Rob Smedley said, “So, Fernando is faster than you.â€
Smedley then added: “Good lad. Just stick with it now. Sorry.â€
Red Bull boss Christian Horner described Ferrari’s actions as “wrong for the sportâ€.
“The drivers should have been allowed to race,†he added.
