Mood Swingometer
Today JOE has been feeling…so excited it just can’t hide it.
We’re about to lose control etc. etc. It’s already been a crazy week, with trips to the Galway Races (don’t ask), and an interview with Rory McIlroy, but this weekend we at JOE are rewarded with the most exciting experience of all – three whole days off for the bank holiday. Hopefully you all have some great trips or unadulterated nights out planned – we reckon the JOE office can look forward to severe memory loss on our reunion Tuesday morning.
Tonight’s Telly
Pick of the night: The IT Crowd, Channel 4, 10:00pm.
We’re big fans of Graham Linehan’s IT Crowd here at JOE, so it is with a heavy heart that we accept that tonight’s episode is the final episode of series four. Tonight’s synopsis reads ‘Douglas enjoys married life for two weeks – until it comes to an abrupt end. He then finds himself in court, defending himself with the help of Jen, Roy and Moss, among others’. Can’t wait.
Movie pick: Die Hard, Film4 9:00pm
The stand-out highlight on the box tonight is TV3’s showing of Francis Lawrence’s adaptation of classic Richard Matheson novel, I Am Legend (Friday, TV3, 10:45pm). With the original story relocated to New York City, Will Smith stars as virologist Robert Neville, who is immune to a virus that has obliterated the human race, and transformed any surviving victims into rabid, vampire-like creatures. Smith brings a haunting prescence to the lead role, which has some masterful set pieces but is slightly let down by a distracting third-act reveal.

Clean your parts
You know what parts we’re talking about right? Look, don’t make this awkward… all JOE is saying is that the long weekend is upon us, which means lots of alcohol intoxication and the greater possibility of boot-knocking. JOE’s resident sex expert (no, we won’t write ‘sexpert’, we have standards) Claire Tully is here to inform you of how to impress this weekend with her personal hygiene tips, containing such revolutionary concepts as washing your bits and changing your boxers. It’s a goldmine of valuable info.
