BlackBerry manufacturer RIM will reveal a new touchscreen smartphone at a press event later today (Tuesday) and it is also expected to be revealing a new tablet device (dubbed the ‘Blackpad’ by the web) that would be a competitor to the iPad.
The new touchscreen phone is thought to be the Blackberry 9800 (pictured above), a 1GHz smartphone that will slide-out a QWERTY keyboard a 5-megapixel camera and 512MB of RAM, according to PCWorld.
With the joint announcement of details on the new BlackBerry OS 6, it is possible that the mobile operating system could be specced for a tablet-computing device, also.
