Fantasy Football is back! And JOE is getting in on the act with the establishment of the inaugural J-League, with prizes on offer for readers with the best teams.
The start of the new Premier League season is only around the corner and while we at JOE are eagerly anticipating the return of regular football action to fill those boring Saturday afternoons, there is something about August 14 that excites us even more – that’s right, Fantasy Football is back.
There is something about finding out if your man got a goal, an assist, or a clean sheet that makes watching football all the more exciting, and with that in mind, here at JOE we have set up a league of our own, the J-League, on the Premier League’s most popular fantasy football format – fantasy.premierleague.com.
Pit your wits against your mates and other JOE readers and of course, the JOE editorial team, whose selection – the appropriately titled JOE’s Journeymen – will be entrusted to a different member of the editorial team each gameweek, with potentially disastrous results.
There will be prizes (which will be announced in due course) awarded to the top teams at the end of every month, with more substantial rewards for the best-performing teams at the halfway stage and at the end of the season.
To coincide with the J-League, JOE will also have plenty of related material in our football section to help our readers make the best selection possible.
Ahead of each gameweek, Fantasy Football Insider will give readers the best tips on who to get in, who to leave out, who to select as captain and when to use the precious wildcard, while Fantasy Football Review will round up the action at the end of every gameweek and inform readers of their position in the J-League table as well as a quick update on the fortunes, whatever they may be, of JOE’s Journeymen.
If you’d like to join the league, simply send an e-mail with ‘fantasy football’ in the subject line to fantasyfootball@joe.ie and we’ll do the rest.
Let the games begin.
