Brazilian midfielder Kaka will be out of action for up to four months after undergoing knee surgery, Real Madrid have confirmed.
The former AC Milan playmaker travelled to Antwerp, Belgium to undergo surgery on the meniscus in his left knee on Thursday and is expected to be out until November or December as a result.
“The operation performed on the left knee of Real Madrid CF’s Ricardo Izecson Dos Santos Leite ‘Kaka’ by Dr Marc Martens at Antwerp’s AZ Monica Hospital was a success,†read a statement of the club’s official website.
“The arthroscopic surgery confirmed an injury to the left meniscus with minimal inflammation of the cartilage. The player is expected to miss three to four months.”
