The first game of this season’s Championship and a runaway favourite with Tony McCoy on board at Worcester form the basis of today’s Daily Double.
Over the sticks at Worcester this afternoon Jim Best’s runner, MYCENEAN PRINCE is looking to complete back-to-back course and distance wins after breaking his duck two weeks ago.
Tony McCoy had little to do aboard the 7-year-old last time out as he won handsomely in a similar looking contest. Despite a 10lb hike in the weights, Mycenean Prince should have it handy in the 4.20 at Worcester.
MYCENEAN PRINCE is the runaway favourite for this one and can be backed at 6/4.
The Premiership is only a week away at this stage, but for those of you who can’t wait that long for a football fix, at least the Championship gets underway this weekend. Norwich City and Watford, two sides who have appeared in the Premier League in recent years, kick things off this evening at Carrow Road.
The Canaries romped to the League 1 title last season and we fancy them to carry the momentum built from that success into the start of this season with a win over a Watford side that finished a disappointing 16th in the Championship last year. 4/5 for the win is a little prohibitive, so we’re going to push the boat out a bit and go for a draw at half-time with Norwich City winning at full time, which is available at 7/2.
JOE’s Daily Double: Mycenean Prince (Worcester 4.20 @ 6/4) and Norwich City draw half-time/win full-time against Watford @ 7/2.
