Manchester City and Liverpool handed decent draws in the Europa League

Manchester City have been drawn against Timosoara, Celtic will face Utrecht and Liverpool will play Trabzonspor in the UEFA Europa League.

Liverpool’s oppononents Trabzonspor came fifth in the Turkish League in 2009-2010, while Celtic’s opponents Utrecht came seventh in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Dundee United will have a difficult task on their hands as they will face-off against Greek side AEK Athens, while Aston Villa will face the team who defeated them in last year’s Europa League play-offs, Rapid Vienna.

Roberto Mancini will be happy with the draw, as Man City will play Timosoara, who only came fifth last year in the Romanian League. Timosoara are currently managed by former Arsenal player Vladimir Petrovic.
