Papuanese tribal men stand with their traditional armament during the Baliem Valley Festival on 9 August in Wamena, Indonesia. The Dani, Yali and Lani tribes gather at this annual festival each dressed in distinctive tribal attire, stage mock battles, perform traditional music and dance, and celebrate with a pig feast.

Today JOE has been feeling…helpful
After leaving the fifth club of his managerial career of his own accord, we feel sorry for the long nights ex-Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill may have to endure, sweating over what could have been had he stayed on at the club, or what generous severance package he was entitled to had he stayed on and crashed and burned in Villa’s domestic campaign. As our own little way of helping pick him back up, JOE has identified five possible career changes for O’Neill. Could the Kilrea man soon be entering the lesbian novelist arena? That could be fun.
Tonight’s Telly
Pick of the night: Live International Football – Ireland v Argentina, Sky Sports 1 7:30pm.
Tonight’s friendly is the first Irish match at the redeveloped Aviva Stadium, and also the night of Robbie Keane’s 100th appearence for his country. Although manager Giovannai Trapattoni is still hospitalised due to food poisoning, we’re sure he and JOE will be cheering on the boys in green tonight. Considering we’ve played the Argies on three occassions, all in Dublin, losing every game and not even scoring a goal, our boys will need all the encouragement we can muster.
Movie pick: Beverly Hills Cop, Sky Comedy 8:00pm
Back when Eddie Murphy was funny, he made his feature film debut in this 1984 classic, which became the highest grossing R-rated comedy in US cinema for nearly 25 years until last summer’s The Hangover, spawning two dire sequels in the process. Director Martin Brest (who has directed just four movies since, including the risible Gigli) finds a fine balance between action and comedy in this well-paced cop comedy, which is memorable for Murphy’s cocky wordplay and infamous ‘banana in the tailpipe’ scene. If you absolutely must insist, both Beverly Hills Cop sequels are on Sky Comedy straight after tonight, though don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Max out the burn
Or something like that. JOE isn’t exactly too fond of exercise slogans (although we do ‘grip it’ before we ‘rip it’ and even ‘wail’ on our quads once in a while) so our main gym motivation is a stonking tune or two that keeps us going as we devolve into a shambling, sweaty mess. Whether it’s classic motivational tunes from The Karate Kid or vulgar rap anthems, JOE has identified our top selections to keep you going a little bit longer for your next workout session.
