Manchester City have confirmed that Craig Bellamy will join Championship side Cardiff City on a season-long loan.

Bellamy had spent Monday in talks with the Welsh side, and has been granted permission by Man City to join up with the Bluebirds.

A statement on Man City’s website read, “He will be officially unveiled in South Wales later today, and subject to Premier League and Football League ratification will join up with Dave Jones’ side in time to make his debut at home to Doncaster Rovers at the weekend.”

Bellamy, who hails from Cardiff, was a target for many clubs during the summer, including Tottenham, Celtic and Sunderland, after it became apparent that he wouldn’t be handed a squad number at Eastlands.

Cardiff will be his tenth club, after Bristol Rovers, Norwich City, Coventry City, Newcastle United, Celtic, Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool, West Ham United and Manchester City.
