The popular city centre spot will open its doors again next year.
The Pavilion on Carey’s Lane in Cork will re-open next year under new management.
The venue closed in July and there was a huge outcry across the city to save it but it has stayed closed for the last five months.
The new management plan on refurbishing the place with the downstairs bar expected to be opening after Christmas under the name ‘Pana@ThePav’.
The music venue upstairs will re-open in March and will be a joint project between the new management and the team at Coughlan’s Live.
Brian Hassett from Coughlan’s Live announced the news on their Facebook page: “We will be taking over the live bookings for upstairs and it’s great news and we’re looking forward to it.
“We have a lot of love for the Pav and it’s an amazing venue to play in.
“This is a huge privilege for us and we promise to do our very best to bring the best of local, national and international lives acts to one of the most respected and loved music venues in the country.”
Great news for Cork and hopefully the place keeps the unique feel that made the old venue so special.
