PICS: Irish people have been sending JOE their best beer-themed Christmas trees

Impressive

Colm Boohig

We appreciate the dedication on show here, lads.

This week, we brought you the very impressive work of ‘the boys in 85 Kilmurry’, who created a Christmas tree masterpiece out of empty beer cans.

Well, some of country has responded with their own works of art and, very confidently, sent them to JOE claiming that theirs was the ultimate creation.

Limerick native Siobhán Murphy sent us this image, which apparently includes 373 cans of Budweiser, Bulmers and Coke (and a stray Canadian beer, by the looks of things).

Siobhán has been explaining to JOE:

“We began making this tree four weeks ago and have since collected 373 cans. A lot of hard work has been put into it and it has been knocked down many times,” said Siobhán, who then brashly claimed…

“We feel this tree deserves a place on JOE.ie as it is more Christmas-themed than the Kilmurry one and it also has more cans.

“Let the Limerick can war begin.”

Meanwhile, Ryan McKillion saw the Killmurray challenge and felt he had the upper hand by sending us this Carlsberg-themed artwork.

Here’s the prep…

And here’s the finished article…

This was Ryan’s description: “Hi JOE, seen your post about the students who made the tree from beer tins. Me and my two mates think it doesn’t hold a candle to our tree, probably one of the best trees in the world!”

What do you think, lads, who’s winning this one? Or can (eh?) you do better?

If you think so, feel free to send your efforts our way on Facebook or Twitter or to editorial@JOE.ie.
