Lightning and a commercial aircraft, never a good combination.
Unfortunately for Ennis man Padraig McGrath, he experienced that very pairing when flying home from his holiday and filmed what he saw.
Padraig explained to JOE what happened as he was flying from Abu Dhabi to Dublin:
”(We) hit this storm about 30 minutes outside Abu Dhabi. It just didn’t let up. The air hostess finally requested I close the shutter on the window.”
