How a studio donated their 25k Walter Mitty marketing budget to The Philippines

A filmmaker had a fantastic idea. He wanted to help a country in need and managed to get a movie studio in on the act…

Casey Neistat is a filmmaker who had a pretty great idea. The director and producer was given a budget by movie studio 20th Century Fox to travel to the Philippines to help those affected by one of the strongest ever typhoons to hit the country.

Casey was handed $25,000 by Fox to “create dreams” for those affected by the horrific typhoon that devastated the country a few weeks ago. The below video is what he did with the cash.

Fair play to Casey and fair play to Fox – who had initially earmarked the cash to promote their Ben Stiller film, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

Here’s hoping more studios and indeed filmmakers follow Casey in his innovative and inspiring endeavor.
