He’s kind of a big deal.
It’s a scientific fact that the only thing that would improve Will Ferrell is even more cowbell.
His latest flick, Get Hard, is being released on March 27 and we can’t bloody wait.
In it, a not-so-thug Kevin Hart shows Ferrell’s bumbling millionaire character what he needs to do to survive prison. Or as he puts it, ‘to get hard.’

As usual, Will Ferrell is side-splittingly good.
So to keep the laughs going, here are nine more times that Will Ferrell has been the funniest b*stard on the planet. No questions asked…
Wedding Crashers
Ferrell’s turn as a live-with-his-mammy lothario had us in stitches.
In the flick, Owen Wilson’s character, John Beckwith, meets up with Chazz Reinhold (Ferrell) to learn the tricks of the wedding-crashing trade from the retired master-crasher, but instead John is met by a komodo-wearing, nunchuk-wielding angry man living in his mother’s house.
It really is priceless…
Zoolander
Ferrell’s character Mugatu invented the piano-tie, don’t you know?
Ferrell played the role of Jacobim Mugatu, the main antagonist of Zoolander, back in 2001 and he’s set to reprise his role in the upcoming Zoolander 2, which is sure to bring us more laughs than we dare to imagine.
Starsky and Hutch
What’s funnier than a mobster being turned on by Owen Wilson pretending to be a dragon?
In Starsky and Hutch, Ferrell played the role of Big Earl, a gangster who makes Starsky and Hutch do some messed-up sh*t before he gives them information they’re looking for.
It’s wrong, but oh so right…
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
SHAKE… AND BAKE.
If you’re a gentleman of a certain vintage (mid-twenties, earlier-thirties) there’s a good chance that you and your buddies wrecked the heads of your lady friends back in 2006 by constantly fist-bumping each other while shouting ‘shake and bake’.
Your lady friends in question have Will Ferrell to thank for that. You can also thank Ferrell for the hilarious one-liners that Talladega Nights produced and that we still quote to this day…
More Cowbell
He really explored the studio space in this Saturday Night Live clip. No, REALLY. He did.
We don’t see much of Saturday Night Live on this side of the Atlantic, but this skit featuring Ferrell is undoubtedly one of the funniest things ever recorded for television. Genius…

Anchorman
One of Ferrell’s funniest movie outings has to be Anchorman. His dry wit, complete lack of awareness and his fondness for his dog Baxter made every scene with the man a laugh out loud moment.
It’s hard, if not impossible, to pick out just one clip from the movie, so here’s a look at his best scenes from the original Anchorman.
Elf
“You sit on a throne of lies.”
Everyone could do with an extra bit of cheer at Christmas time and that’s why Elf is one of the funniest things to watch over the Holidays. Ferrel’s character Buddy offers the kind of slapstick humour and one-liners that have made this movie a Christmas classic.
Old School
Frank The Tank… You’re my boy, Blue! Need we say more?
Will Ferrell plays the loveable idiot better than anyone in this 2003 masterpiece in comedy. Over ten years on and we’re still quoting Ferrel’s character Frank.
Will Ferrell = Chad Smith
He’s more than just a hilarious actor y’know? He’s also a REALLY good drummer.
Okay, so he’s actually not that good at drumming. But he did make this ‘drum-off’ with Will Ferrell-look-a-like, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chilli Peppers fame, one of the funniest things we saw last year.
Did someone say MORE cowbell? You can never have enough cowbell…
So there you have it, nine times Will Ferrell was the funniest b*stard in the world.
We can’t wait until the March 27 when Get Hard hits cinemas, and he splits our sides once more.
Get Hard – in cinema’s nationwide from March 27.
