Back To The Future musical set to launch in London’s West End next year

Finally, a musical we can really get behind.

Tony Cuddihy

Robert Zemeckis will direct a musical version of ‘Back To The Future’ on the film’s 30th anniversary in 2015.

The West End production will be accompanied by a new book on one of the most popular films of the 1980s, written by Zemeckis – who directed all three films in the franchise – and original screenwriters Bob Gale and Jamie Lloyd.

Other 80s classics that have been brought to the West End include Ghost, Flashdance, Dirty Dancing and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Back To The Future was released on July 3rd, 1985 and went on to become the most successful film of the year.

The story concerns Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox, who goes back in time from 1985 to 1955 in order to get back to 1985. In a nutshell.
