Product placement gone mad.
There’s a scene in the last James Bond movie Skyfall where 007 reads a text message on his phone that says “EWA FLIGHT 226 9pm.”
The phone is an Xperia and according to leaked Sony Pictures emails, the mobile phone company paid a pretty penny for that product placement.
This is hard to believe, but Daniel Craig reportedly earned €4.6 million for himself for simply holding the phone in that scene.
Sony are eager to get their product in the new Bond film Spectre, which is out later in 2015, but they face competition from Samsung for the placement.
The world is mad.
