Paul Moore

Some of the year’s most critically acclaimed films are in your cinema this month.

Cold outside? Pfft. Feck it, a trip to the cinema will sort that out. Here’s what’s on the big screen over the next few weeks.

Nocturnal Animals

Plot: An art gallery owner is haunted by her ex-husband’s novel, a violent thriller she interprets as a veiled threat and a symbolic revenge tale.

Go see it because: We’ve had our eye on Jake Gyllenhaal’s new thriller for a while now because it has been earning some magnificent reviews.  The cast reads like a director’s dream with Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Isla Fisher, Laura Linney, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Michael Sheen all starring.
