Trailer for the What We Do in the Shadows spinoff show, Wellington Paranormal, is bloody brilliant

Paul Moore

Created by the incredible Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement. This will be fantastic.

We’re firmly of the opinion that Taika Waititi is a god.

Well, how else would you explain the fact that 1) everything he makes is superb – Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Thor: Ragnarok, Boy etc. 2) He’s an immortal vampire that’s incredibly popular with the ladies – we’ll always love him in What We Do in the Shadows 3) He’s also a priest, comedian and an alien that’s made of rocks – his cameos steal every scene.

On a serious note – if one actually exists with the gifted director – he’s about to unleash some more comedic genius on the world and What We Do in the Shadows fans are in for a treat.

As stated previously, we’re massive fans of the mockumentary and the inept cops that featured in that film are back in their own standalone show.

Mmm, we wonder if Peter, Viago, Vladislav, and Deacon ever managed to install that fire alarm?

Well, officers Minogue and O’Leary, played by Mike Minogue and Karen O’Leary, are returning as they investigate the utterly bonkers and brilliant cases of werewolves, zombies, vampires and more that seem to be roaming the streets of Wellington, New Zealand.

Remember, we’re werewolves, not swearwolves!

Aside from creating this new show, Waititi is a very busy man because he’s currently filming Jojo Rabbit, developing the US version of What We Do in the Shadows and writing the script for the spiritual sequel, We’re Wolves.

During an interview with JOE, Waititi gave a few details about the highly anticipated film.

Regarding We’re Wolves, he said: “I think we’ve written three pages over the last two years! The first one (What We Do in the Shadows) took us about six years to do. This one, we’re hoping to get done a lot quicker. Actually, after this (Thor press junket) we’re hoping to get together and carve out some time to finish the script.”

A god.
