Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin is legally changing his name

Paul Moore

We really wanted him to be called Kevin.

There are some actors that will forever be synonymous with a certain role. For example, Mark Hamill has spoken at large about how he’ll forever be associated with Luke Skywalker. On a similar note, it’s hard to imagine Daniel Radcliffe in any role and not instantly picture him as Harry Potter.

Granted, they’re very talented actors but some films just manage to become pop-culture behemoths that never quit.

On this note, Macaulay Culkin’s performance as Kevin McAllister in the first two Home Alone films is exactly the same.

Again, apologies for anyone that loves Culkin’s work in My Girl, Richie Rich, or The Good Son, but that’s just the way it is and as we’ve seen by his recent recreation of the Christmas classic, he’s happy to keep the change, ya filthy animal from the nice paycheque he picked up from Google.

He’ll always be Kevin to us but the actor is going by a new name after conducting a poll on his website.

Culkin held a public vote to change his middle name from the boring but otherwise okay-sounding “Carson” to a selection of his choosing, including “Shark Week,” “Publicity Stunt,” “Kieran” (his brother’s first name), “TheMcRibIsBack,” and “Macaulay Culkin,” as he explained.

He said: “My middle name is something dumb. Larry? Orange? Honestly, I can’t even remember it. So I asked you all to send in some better options so I can go down to the court house and explain to a judge why I need to change my middle name to something cool.”

Ladies and gents, presenting to you, the actor that’s currently known as Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.

We still prefer…

KEVIN!
