It seems that the galaxy in which Star Wars takes place is catching up with the rest of the world as the series is set to get a gay character within the next two movies according to JJ Abrams
During a pre-Oscars event, the director of the most recent instalment of the Star Wars franchise said “To me, the fun of Star Wars is the glory of possibility so it seems insanely narrow-minded and counterintuitive to say there wouldn’t be a homosexual character in that world.”
Star Wars has already caused much consternation among more conservative sci-fi fans by having one black lead and one female lead, so it seems that Abrams is gearing up to cause some heart-attacks for the more medievally minded.
Our money is on BB-8 and Kylo Ren. Is BB-8 male? Can robots have gender? Typical Abrams, raising more questions than he answers.
