A must-see for all Irish people…
To celebrate the release of new documentary, The Queen Of Ireland, we sat down for a chat with the film’s director, Conor Horgan, and the star of the show, Rory O’Neill AKA Panti Bliss.
The Queen Of Ireland is a truly special film and one that, as well as offering an insight into the fascinating life of a gay man growing up in rural Ireland, perfectly captures modern Ireland on one of the most memorable days in the country’s history; 23 May 2015.
You remember that day, right? The one with the referendum results and the marriage and the equality and all that stuff.
Yeah, it was pretty amazing.
In addition to our own chat with the star and director of The Queen Of Ireland, Panti is also set to entertain Irish cinema-goers when the film premieres at Dublin’s Light House Cinema on Wednesday 21 October, where it will be followed by a live Q&A following the film, hosted by Brendan Courtney and special guests Antony Cotton, Pauline McLynn and Katherine Lynch.
The Q&A will be broadcast by satellite to audiences at cinemas all across Ireland, and questions will be taken via Twitter and from the live audience at the Light House Cinema.
Tickets for this exclusive live event are available to purchase on the official website for the films by clicking here.
In the meantime though, check out the interview and the film’s terrific trailer below…
